PLANT 'Highly Commended' in the 2025 AJ Awards for the Refurb Project (£10m+)

We are thrilled to share that PLANT has been highly commended in the 2025 AJ Awards for the Refurb Project (£10m+) category!

“The retrofit of PLANT, originally known as Gateway House, restores and regenerates one of the UK’s most important listed modern buildings. Dating from 1973 by Peter Foggo and Arup Associates, the vast complex in Basingstoke comprises six levels of commercial workspaces blanketed in tiered roof gardens and terraces. New interventions include a redesigned entrance and reception area to enhance the arrival experience and establish a stronger visual connection with the gardens. Double-height spaces create vertical connections between floors, increasing the sense of openness and drawing more natural light into the plan. The jury admired how the remodelling had succeeded in opening up the building: ‘It’s been given new life’, they commented.”
