An Arresting Edition: Bodmin Jail wins CORC Roof of the Year 2021

Bodmin jail has sat roofless, inhabited only by local pigeons and bats, since 1927 after it’s closure and subsequent botched demolition. The team here at Twelve Architects undertook the challenge to turn this impressive landmark from ruined jail to luxury hotel and the good people at the Confederation of Roofing Contractors have certainly given us their seal of approval by awarding their prestigious ‘Roof of the Year’ award to the Bodmin Jail.

This same project has been starstudded with award nominations; it’s also in the running for both the ‘Cultural and Leisure Project of the Year’, and the ‘Upgrade and Renewal Project of the Year’!
